Beware of Washing This Bag Jul 08, 2010
I have never written a review before, however I just thought I should warn people about washing this bag......I ordered five of these bags, just because I thought it was such a great deal. When I got them in the mail (very quickly I have to admit), they had little specs of grey on the canvas, so I decided to wash all of them together just to start out on the right foot. WRONG!! I should have never done that. I have a large washer and these bags came out of the washer all torn up and looking like they just got out of World War III. I was going to give them as baby shower gifts (with useful baby items stuffed inside) to a few of my friends who are expecting, however I can't do that anymore. Two of them I was able to half-way salvage for recyclable grocery bags, and the other three I had to throw away because they were unusable. I should have never have washed them. I guess for the price, I should have expected that, but I saw the great reviews here, and thought that they would be of better quality. They are wonderful bargain- Just be careful about washing them!! And in my opinion, a canvas bag that can't wash is basically not worth it. With three kids myself and a busy lifestyle, I need tote bag that can be thrown in the wash.

The company overall was very dependable. I think I will buy other items through them, however just be careful about washing. With my purchase I received two free bags as a free gift as well as a coupon for any more purchases from the company. I was very happy with the shipping time as well.

This was a second purchase of these sturdy, well made bags. The family now has about 50 of them and use them in NY, VA, CA, TX and OH. Whether you're shopping at the local farmers' market, the supermarket or Wally World, the bags are convenient, avoid waste, reduce pulluting landfills with plastic and demonstrate a positive attitude about the users' habits. And, I have NEVER had one of them break with a bottle of wine or fresh damp vegitables between the car and the kitchen. And when you're not shopping, they offer multiple service to haul books, art supplies, a picnic lunch or beach towels. My advice, buy them for each car, and use them. I was looking for an inexpensive way to organize baby, dog, etc stuff in my car. This bags are unbeatable for the price! Nice thick cotton canvas. The outer pockets are very handy for putting things in that you need quick access to. It's actually softer (not quite as rigid canvas) than it looks in the picture. It's not quite as heavy duty as LLBean canvas tote bags, but for < $4 I'm sold!
